With Castlepalooza, Indiependence and All Together Now on over the Bank Holdiay weekend, many are sunburnt or severely sunkissed from a weekend outdoors. But, according to this latest weather outlook, those sunny moments will be a distant memory in no time.

Temperatures are set to plunge from a balmy 25C to a cooler 19C today. Parts of Connacht and Ulster will experience even lower temperatures, with the maximum there expected around 15C.

Met Éireann are warning that much chillier conditions will dominate the island from this evening. Heavy showers are on the way too, which are set to continue into Wednesday, with temperatures of 14-19C expected, the warmest in the South and Southeast.

Showers are expected through Thursday too, with mixed conditions due on Friday and Saturday.

Met Éireann add "Current indications suggest that the early days of next week will be mixed, with some good dry periods, but with some rain or showers at times also".
