The Mayor of Limerick City's chain has been stolen.
The chain of office, thought to be worth around €10,000, was robbed from a politician's car.
The Irish Examiner reports councillor Frankie Daly was standing in for the Metropolitan Mayor Seán Lynch, and left the chain in his car, which was parked overnight in the Corbally area of the city.
He's described the theft of the gold and silver chain as "an attack on the people of Limerick".
It's the second time a mayoral chain has been stolen in the city.
