According to The Farmers Journal, Glenamaddy Church in Co Galway will have a unique way for parishioners to receive ashes on Ash Wednesday (March 1st).
via Google MapsA 'drive thru' service will operate for those who are too busy in the day to attend mass. Apparently those wishing to receive Ash can drive in through one gate, the priest does his job while people sit in their vehicle (tractor or car) and exit through a second gate. It will run between 8am - 9.30am outside Glenamaddy church.
