We've teamed up with Fuzetea, to help you make the most of this amazing Summer!
We aren’t sure there’s enough joyous words to describe the Summer we’ve had in Ireland in 2018 thus far... It’s been simply astounding.
When there’s a good portion of the population walking around with some actual non-fake tan induced colour, you know the sun has been good to us.
Although we’d like to think this will be the norm for our Country every time June rolls around from now on, we can’t kid ourselves...
A spell of weather this amazing may not grace our shores again for some time.
Which is why you can't let this opportunity go to waste!
We’ve teamed up with Fuzetea, the masters of me-time, to bring you 5-ways you can seize this amazing Summer before it’s all over.
1. Go to a festival
Behold the power of the melody.
There aren’t many things that provide a sense of freedom like a festival. And Ireland is absolutely jam-packed with Festivals at this time of year...
Here are just a few you should pencil in:
Electric Picnic, Co. Laois – The big one. Huge International Artists, amazing facilities... and incredible atmosphere, EP is the mecca of festival going in Ireland.
Galway International Arts Festival, Co. Galway – From the Heineken Big Top, to the smaller acts that take place in the many brilliant establishments around Galway, the GIAF has something for everyone.
All Together Now, Co. Waterford – This is a festival for those who like things a little smaller. Featuring some unbelievable alternate music acts, this intimate festival in Waterford is for those who don’t like following the straight and narrow.
2. Unplug for 24-Hours and connect with real friends
We aren’t machines.
But for some of us, our actions are almost exclusively dictated by them...
Which is why we simply need to unplug every now and then... switch off for 24-hours and reconnect with the real world, and our real friends.
Maybe you could organise a dinner where you all agree to leave your phones at home?
Or maybe you place yourself on a screen ban for a day, and spend the day immersing yourself in nature, or walking around town?
This Summer, take some time back from the machines.
3. Go hiking
Nature is waiting for you... Don’t be rude, go for a visit.
Ireland is blessed with some of the most picturesque landscapes in the world...
Here are just a few places you need to visit before Summer ’18 calls it quits:
Killarney National Park, Co. Kerry – An absolute haven for hikers and cyclists, you’ll be blown away by the stunning natural views.
Errisbeg Hill Walk, Connemara, Co. Galway - A gorgeous three-five hour hill walk near Roundstone. Featuring dramatic rocks, spectacular scenery including mountains, bog and coastline. A must on a clear day.
Vale of Clara Forest Walk, Co. Wicklow - A hidden gem! If you’re after a lovely woodland walk which is very peaceful and quiet, this is for you.
4. Watch an Irish Sunset
If a picture paints a thousand words... Then an Irish Sunset is a thesis.
No matter where you go in Ireland, you can be assured of one thing, The Irish Sunset will leave you breathless.
It’s one of nature’s most awe-inspiring displays, and watching it from start to finish is an incredible experience.
Here are a few places we recommend catching it:
Salthill Promande, Co. Galway – As the sun slowly disappears behind the Mountains, the sky dances with luminous streaks of orange, red and purple. While the ocean glistens below, a truly magical experience.
Cliffs of Moher, Co. Clare – Seeing the sun go down against the awesome power of the magnificent Cliffs of Moher is a must. It will leave you speechless.
Dublin Port, Co. Dublin – The shimmering water littered with small boats, against the shining lights from office building under and radiant sky... The sunset at Dublin Port is the perfect City setting to spend the final moment of sunlight for the day.
5. Go for a proper old fashioned picnic
They’re called classics for a reason...
Going on a picnic with your family, significant other or with your friends is a great way to unwind and enjoy the sunshine.
And these places won’t let you down:
Powerscourt Estate, Co. Wicklow - Home to Ireland’s highest waterfall and some of the most beautiful gardens and lakes, Powerscourt Estate in Co. Wicklow is a popular picnic spot with locals and visitors to the area. The Estate’s many wide open spaces and grand estate provide a wonderful setting for picnicking all day long.
