Father Ted's Pat Laffan Has Died

Actor Pat Laffan, famous for his roles as The milkman Pat Mustard in Father Ted and Mr Burgess in The Snapper has died.

According to RTE - Lisa Richards Agency who represented Laffan released a statement - "It is with tremendous sadness that we here at the Lisa Richards Agency can confirm Pat Laffan's passing today.

"Pat was one of the very first clients of the agency but much more than that, he was a close friend, a mentor and a hugely important supporter of the company's founders Lisa and Richard Cook and for many of the staff of the agency who had the pleasure to represent and work with him over the last almost thirty years."

Pat Laffan was also a member of the Abbey Theatre Company in the sixties and seventies and he performed in many plays, old and new.

His Television acting credits include The Running Mate (TG4), The Clinic, Showbands, On Home Ground, Strumpet City, Eastenders, The Governor, Sharpe’s Rifles, Father Ted and Random Passage. Films include The Queen,Waiting for DublinThe Boys and Girl from County Clare, Waiting For Dublin, Intermission, How Harry Became a Tree, Country, The Serpent’s Kiss, The Closer You Get, The Saint, Durango, The Snapper, The General and Barry Lyndon.
