The social media giant has messed up again!

Facebook has disclosed that it accidentally shared some posts publicly last month because of a bug.

In a statement, it revealed up to 14 million Facebook users had their default sharing settings for all new posts set to public.

The glitch lasted for four days, from May 18th to May 22nd, while Facebook was testing a new feature.

Facebook's chief privacy officer, Erin Egan, explained what happened in a post on the site's official blog:

"We recently found a bug that automatically suggested posting publicly when some people were creating their Facebook posts. Today we started letting the 14 million people affected know – and asking them to review any posts they made during that time."

"To be clear, this bug did not impact anything people had posted before, and they could still choose their audience just as they always have."

It's another privacy scandal for Facebook after the Cambridge Analytica data leak that affected as many as 87 million users.

An apology would be nice, lads!
