So... why do we kiss?

In very important news, Scientists in the Netherlands have explained why we shift each other.

And the report, which is romantically titled 'Shaping the oral microbiota through intimate kissing' (sexy...) has also revealed a few interesting facts about kissing!

For example, did you know that we share about 80-million bacteria during a passionate ten-second kiss? Gross.

The study also explains how human lips are the body’s most exposed erogenous zone.

Unlike in other animals, human lips are uniquely everted, meaning they purse outwardly, and they'repacked with sensitive nerve endings. Which means even the slightest brush sends a a ton of information to our brains, which feels great, and explains why we feel the impulse to kiss.

The researchers also found that kissing activates a very large part of the brain associated with sensory information, and that a good shift will send a wave of hormones through our bodies that influence how we think and feel.

In short... kissing is good for you! So get out there and get yourself the shift.
