Elderly victim of racist tirade on Ryanair flight speaks out

An elderly woman who was the victim of a racial tirade on a Ryanair flight has spoken out.

The man was filmed verbally abusing an the woman in the same row of seats as him on a flight.

It’s believed to have taken place on a flight from Barcelona to London Stansted on Friday.

Delsie Gayle was moved to another seat on the aircraft, while the man remaied on his seat.

In the video, it appeared cabin crew took no action against the man.

Ms Gayle spoke to ITV news and said she was shocked following the incident.

She said, "I travel a lot, I go to Canada...and no-one has every said those words to me".

Ryanair has faced criticism for not intervening. But despite this, Delsie Gayle has not heard from the airline.

Describing to ITV news how she felt, she said "I feel very low. He paid a fare a to go on holiday, I've paid mine so why does he abuse me for that due to the colour of my skin?"

Ms Gayle was about to fly home from a trip to Barcelona when the incident occured.

The trip had been organised by Ms Gayle's daughter to cheer her up as it's nearing one year since the death of her husband of more than fifty years.
