Good news, dog lovers.

Apparently having a dog sleeping near you is actually good for you.

According to a new study by the Mayo Clinic in Arizona, (Yes, The Mayo Clinic is actually in America) sleeping near your dog might actually help you rest easier.

40 adults without sleeping disorders were analysed as well as their dogs, over the course of five months, giving both humans and dogs activity trackers to monitor their sleeping habits for seven nights.
Results Showed that sleeping in the same room as their dog helped them to have a better quality night’s sleep, and the breed of dog didn't matter.

GREAT NEWS, But there is a catch. . .

Sleeping with your dog in the room is great, but if you let them under the covers you may lose sleep due to their movements,For Example if you have a German Shepard waking you up at 4am by licking your face, We wouldn't count that as a good nights sleep.

Dr Lois Krahn, who was behind the study had this to say,

‘Most people assume having pets in the bedroom is a disruption,’ ‘We found that many people actually find comfort and a sense of security from sleeping with their pets"
