Motorists who fit a dash cam in their car could be given an insurance discount.
It's part of plans by AXA Insurance to cut down on fraudulent injury claims and to make it easier to establish liability.
According to the Irish Independent, AXA is offering drivers discounts of 10 per cent if they install a dash cam.
The insurer has teamed up with camera company Nextbase for the initiative.
Nextbase is matching the reduced insurance premium for AXA customers with a 10 per cent discount on its dash cams.
However, they must be purchased in retailers Halfords, DID, Powercity, Expert Electrical, Micksgarage.com, Euronics Electrical, Soundstore and Sam McCauley.
AXA director Antoinette McDonald said: "Dash cams offer a great way for drivers to get extra peace of mind when they are on the road and can be helpful to resolve issues when liability is disputed."
