"I am a living ghost."
A Romanian man is trying to prove to authorities that he's alive.
Constantin Reliu found out in January that he's registered as dead.
The 63 year old had been working as a cook in Turkey for more than 20 years, but when he returned home to Romania he discovered his wife had declared him dead in 2016.
On Thursday, a court rejected his claims that he's alive. The court in the city of Vaslui refused to overturn his death certificate because his appeal was filed "too late."

Speaking to The Associated Press following the decision, an emotional Mr Reliu said:
"I am a living ghost. I am officially dead, although I'm alive. I have no income and because I am listed as dead, I can't do anything."
He said his wife, who now lives in Italy, was unfaithful during their marriage ands that's why he decided to stay in Turkey.
"I am not sure whether I am divorced or not. I am not sure whether she is married to someone else or not. Nobody will tell me."
