The European Commission has stated that it is recommending to the European Council that “sufficient progress” has been made in the first phase of Brexit talks whilst the British PM, Teresa May said that the deal would ensure “no hard border” in Ireland and added that the deal was a “significant improvement” requiring give and take on both sides.
Tainiste Simon Coveney tweeted his delight at this significant breakthrough.
