World Cancer Day is a global event that takes place every year on the 4th of February to unite the world’s population in the fight against cancer.

The aim of the day is to raise awareness and educate people on the disease in order to save millions of lives each year from preventable deaths. It encourages individuals and governments alike all across the world to step up and take action.

According to worldcancerday.org, currently 8.8 million people die from cancer worldwide each year, out of which, 4 million people die prematurely (aged 30 to 69 years.) So today is an ideal opportunity to raise the profile of cancer in people's own minds and the media.

Checking yourself is vital for early detection. See below how to check your breasts and testicles.
