The accident happened on a bridge connecting two main islands in Denmark.

At least six people have been killed in a crash between a passenger train and a cargo train this morning.

It happened at around 8am on the Storebaelt Bridge, which joins Denmark's two most populated islands Zealand and Funen.

Sixteen people have been injured in the collision.

Local media is reporting that the roof of a cargo train blew off in heavy winds and hit a passenger train that was travelling in the opposite direction.

The passenger train was heading towards the capital of Copenhagen, having departed from the city of Odense.
