What are the chances?!

An adopted woman spent years searching for her birth family only to find her biological sister living next door.

Hillary Harris from Wisconsin in the US was adopted as a baby in 1987.

The 31 year old began looking for her biological parents seven years ago but discovered her father Wayne Clouse had passed away in 2010.

However, Hillary found out she had two half-siblings - one of which was a woman named Dawn Johnson.

The mum of one tried tracking down Dawn on Facebook without any luck, until last year when a couple moved next door.

Hillary only knew the couple as Dawn and Kurt but after learning that her new neighbour was from Greenwood - the same city as her long-lost sister - Hillary joked to her partner that she could be her sister.

Months passed and then a package was delivererd to their shared driveway - Hillary was shocked to see the name, Dawn Johnson.

With encouragement from her husband Lance, Hillary approached Dawn and asked her who her father was.

It was Wayne. They had the same Dad!

Speaking to the Washington Post, Hillary said it's fate:

"I was so sad when I discovered my biological father had passed away but by meeting Dawn, I feel like I have all the answers I will ever need. She’s the missing puzzle piece I have been looking for for so many years."

While 50 year old Dawn said:

"I'm very happy to have a wonderful neighbour, also my sister. And I get to watch my niece! And she gets to play and I get to feel young."
