This is Esme

Esme

She's three years old and lives Canon, England.

Here she is with her dad, Lee.

Last June Esme was diagnosed with end stage kidney failure.

This meant that she spend 12 hours a day on dialysis for 14 months. Things also could have gotten worse very quickly.

When Lee learned that he was a match for a kidney transplant, he "said yes immediately"

The brave dad told "Manchester Evening News: "This is something that any parent would do, you just say yes, it's in the terms."

Both faher and daughter are recovering in hospital after a successful operation on Thursday.

Esme's mam, Rachel, wrote a Facebook post, calling Lee the "best daddy in the world."

"He has given our daughter more than a gift, a chance at a better, healthier, happier life and we will teach her to realise anything really is possible."

Lee has said that he's still a bit sore and will "have to milk it at home for a bit", which might be fair.

Both Lee and Rachel have used the publicity to emphasise the importance of signing up for organ donation.
