Well this would be nice wouldn't it?

According to a new survey from Sigmar recruitment, most workers around Ireland should get a pay rise in 2019.

According to the research, 6 in 10 employers plan to increase salaries by around 9 per cent this year.

It was also shown that 59 per cent say they plan to hire more staff from abroad. And two thirds of bosses say they'll invest more in automation.

Here's hoping the survey is bang on the money! Literally.

Meanwhile the CPL 2019 salary guide showed:

• 41% of employees would leave a job for a better career opportunity or new challenge.
• 57% of employees would value a pay rise over any other benefit.
• And a whopping 75% of people want to change career.
