There might be an early lockdown exit - according to an independent TD.
Kildare is in an extended period of lockdown due to rising Covid-19 numbers.
The county had been in lockdown with Laois and Offaly previously, but restrictions were lifted in the latter two counties last week.
Independent TD Cathal Berry says he's very optimistic that lockdown restrictions could be lifted in Kildare as early as Tuesday.
"The numbers are very very reassuring, in fact actually encouraging" Berry said regarding the trend of cases in the county as of late.
He added, "I think it's now becoming highly likely that on Monday or Tuesday Kildare is going to exit what is it's third lockdown."
Dr. Ronan Glynn said last week that health officials would explore easing measures as early as they could.
