Expect big things from Edel!
They may be young, but they're already shaking up the system.
The Forbes 30 under 30 Europe list is the ultimate hat tip to young people leaving their mark on society.
Making the list is no easy feat, thousands of applicants are judged by an expert panel of judges who ensure that each member is a leader in his or her industry.
And sitting proudly on this prestigious list is Galway native Edel Browne.
The 21-year-old has landed a spot in the coveted Science and Healthcare section of the 2019 edition.
Edel got the nod for her work in helping people with Parkinson’s Disease.
She is the founder of Free Feet Medical which aims to treat gait freezing, a common symptom for people living with the disease.
Amazingly, Edel first created a device which assisted with the treatment of gait freezing when she was just 15.
And in the process she won the Best Individual Award at the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition.
Now her incredible story continues having been named as one of just seven Irish representatives on the Forbes list along with the likes of rugby star Peter O’Mahony and actor Jessie Buckley.
Amazing!
Recently, iRadio's Dave and Fionnuala enjoyed an exclusive chat with Edel where they discussed:
- Her feelings on making the list.
- How she manages her many projects.
- And not being able to take much time to relax. She
