Another win for the environment in the uphill battle against climate change as an Irish company has come up with the world's first 100 per cent plastic-free and easily recyclable coffee cup.
The Laois-based Butterfly Cup is surprisingly the first ever coffee cup to be completely made of paperboard. The cup was unveiled at the One Young World Summit in London.
Not only is the cup 100% plastic-free, it can also be recycled with mainstream paper waste like newspaper and cardboard, solving a problem which has plagued the beverage industry.
The all-in-one cup is sourced from renewable forests, it eliminates plastic lids and straws and prevents splashes, leaks and drips.
