Body of missing Galway man (24) recovered from Corrib

The 24-year-old's body has been recovered.

The search  for missing Galway City man Conor Burke has ended, after a body confirmed to be that of the 24-year-old's, was pulled from the River Corrib over the weekend.

The official death notice for Conor on RIP.ie notes his date of death as 14 February, which is the date he went missing.

A statement from the Oranmore Maree Coastal Search Unit read: "We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Conor Burke. May he rest in peace.

"Some of our RIB unit were involved in the search along the river Corrib. Thanks for everyone who came out on the search and for the Commercial Boat Club for the use of their facilities."

A week ago, the body of another young man, Robert Murray, was also recovered from the Renmore Beach area. He was 25 years old.
