Irish rail said it’s planning to recommence food services onto trains in the very near future.

It’s caterers pulled out due to staffing issues and budget cuts over the pandemic.

It’s great news for the commuters in the country though.

Communications Manger with Iarnród Éireann, Barry Kenny, says they hope to provide a partial service for customers:

“We’ve been working with suppliers in the market around catering.

“We’re very hopeful that we’ll be able to confirm the partial return of food catering services very soon. It’s about getting to the end of that process, it’s something we’re very anxious to have return as we know, our customers are too.

“We would be hopeful to have trolley services back in the relatively near future and we hope to announce that shortly.”
