It's gonna be blustery!
Image via Unsplash.comA status yellow wind warning for ten counties comes into effect at 3pm today.
The counties affected are Cork, Waterford, Dublin, Kildare, Carlow, Kilkenny, Louth, Meath, Wexford, and Wicklow. That warning will be in place until nine o'clock tonight.
Meanwhile, a separate status yellow wind warning comes into effect at overnight from 1am. Very strong winds are expected for Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Galway and Mayo. That warning is valid until 5pm tomorrow.

Tuesday
There'll be widespread rain this afternoon and heavy downpours in places too. It's set to be blustery with moderate to fresh southerly winds and will turn very windy in the mid-afternoon and evening in parts of the south, midlands and east with very strong gusts too. Highs of 7 to 11 degrees for the rest of today. Continuing blustery tonight, increasing very strong to gale force in western and southern coastal areas with some damaging gusts. Showers will merge to long spells of rain with some wintry falls of hail and sleet possible as well as thunder. Lows of 0 degrees.
Wednesday
It'll be very windy across the country on Wednesday with strong to gale force and gusty northwest winds and some severe gusts especially in the northwest. Showers or longer spells of rain and the chance of hail and thunder too. Some sunny spells are also forecast too. Highs of 10 degrees. On Wednesday night, the strong winds will ease to a light or moderate westerly breeze. Winds and rain will continue in Ulster, but elsewhere it will be clearer. Lows of 0 degrees on Wednesday night.
Thursday
A mix of sunny spells and showers on Thursday, with cloud increasing from the south later on. Light or moderate winds and slightly warmer too with highs of 12 degrees. On Thursday night, a spell of rain is forecast over the southern half of the country. It'll stay mainly dry further north with clearer skies. A touch of grass frost is possible in the north with temperatures near freezing or slightly below.
Friday
It'll be a cloudy start on Friday with rain lingering for a time in the east. Sunny spells will develop along with showers in a moderate northwesterly airflow. Top temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees. Friday night will be mainly dry with winds becoming calm and lows of 0 degrees.
