This'll be some craic.

While we can all agree it's less than ideal to be confined to our homes as we lead into summer, there are still ways we can have some decent craic.

And Wild Roots Festival, which is set to kick off in Sligo on August 14th - 16th, has found an innovative way to provide us with some unreal entertainment, all from the comfort and safety of our own homes.

They've announced a stellar Facebook Live event to kick off the May bank holiday weekend.

On Friday 1st May from 7pm they'll be joined by James Morrison, Paddy Casey Music, Ryan McMullan and many more for an evening of brilliant music all in aid of The Mater Foundation!

The Mater Foundation raises funds to support the Mater Hospital, the national centre for adult emergency respiratory life support (ECMO) in Ireland, and they are providing vital support for support front line staff in the current fight against Covid-19.

Also if you purchase a weekend camping ticket to the Wild Roots Festival on the day or during the Facebook Live event, 40% of proceeds will be donated to The Mater Foundation.

While 20% of proceeds of any day tickets purchased will also be donated to The Mater Foundation.

If you wish to make a donation to the Mater Foundation, you can do so here.

And you can find out more about the Wild Roots Festival on their website.
