The warning is valid until 10pm this evening.
Despite the promise of warmer weather later in the week, it seems we'll have to suffer through one more unseasonable June day.
Met Éireann has just issued a status yellow weather warning for thundery downpours for 26 counties.
The national forecaster says the downpour's will be strongest over Munster and Leinster and there is the possibility of spot flooding.
The warning is valid from 12pm today until 10pm this evening.

Warmer weather on the way:
Despite the warning, things are set to get better from tomorrow onward, with temperatures as high as 27 degrees forecast on Thursday:
Tuesday
Misty and foggy conditions will gradually lift, along with a few isolated thunderstorms, mostly likely in Munster and south Leinster.
Highest temperatures of 20 to 23 degrees.
Starting to look good…
Wednesday
This is when things will really start to kick off.
Wednesday should be mostly dry with sunny spells, maximum temperatures of 20 to 25 degrees.
Largely dry overnight with the odd shower in the south, lows of 10 to 15 degrees.
Thursday
Again things should be mainly dry with slight risk of an isolated thunderstorm (but let’s just ignore that).
Met Éireann says it should be very warm and humid maximum temperatures of 22 to 27 degrees. Now we’re talking.
Friday
And Friday looks set to be just as good as it’s predecessor, with temperatures st to fall between 20 to 26 degrees.
Saturday and Sunday
Generally staying very warm but watch out for some thundery rain.
Not ideal…but if we get those three days of bliss, I don’t think anyone will mind a bit of rain too much.
