The incident is being treated as a tragic accident.
A post mortem's expected to take place today on the body of a toddler who died after being struck by a car in a driveway of a house.
It happened in Skibbereen in west Cork, shortly after 5pm yesterday.
The 18-month-old boy was taken to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries, but he later died.
Gardai say they're treating the child's death as a tragic accident.
