There's a new app that allows domestic-abuse victims to capture evidence of the crimes. As reported in the news this morning on the AO Show, The Bright Sky App will be launched today by the Vodafone Ireland Foundation, Women's Aid and the Gardaí.
Shockingly, Women's Aid says at least 20 percent of Irish women will experience domestic-abuse during their lives.
The charity's chief executive, Sarah Benson, hopes the new app will help to increase prosecutions and says; this app in an important innovation. It provides a range of supports and information for those who may be experiencing domestic abuse and domestic violence.
Particular importance is the innovation which allows a victim of domestic abuse and in particular a victim of the new crime of coercive control to record their experiences in a safe and secure way.
