The CSO has revealed which county has the highest disposable income per person

New figures from the Central Statistics Office have revealed which county has the highest disposable income per person in the country.

And it comes as no major shock that that county is Dubin.

The CSO figures show people in the Dublin region enjoyed an average disposable income of over 24 thousand euro in 2016 - that's just over 18 percent higher than the national average.

The only other counties to exceed the national average of €20,064 euro were Limerick, Kildare and Wicklow with Carlow, Cork and Waterford just below.

The Border region with €17,370 was lowest among the eight regions at about 15.8% below the state average, while the Midland region with €17,717 was the second lowest and about 14.1% below the state average.
