Great news if you're making plans for this weekend.

It looks like the weather is going to play ball! Met Éireann have forecast a bright and mostly dry weekend ahead with a good few sunny spells throughout.

It's going to be pretty mild too with highs of 17 degrees over the weekend. That makes us on par with popular summer hotspots like Madrid, Barcelona and Lisbon this weekend!

Here's the full forecast for the weekend ahead:

Friday

Generally dry for the rest of today with a mix of cloud and hazy sunshine. Many areas will remain dry but there'll be some well scattered showers too, mainly Leinster and Munster. Dry and clear too tonight but a few showers in the east and south. Cool with lows of 3 degrees.

Saturday

Saturday will be mostly dry with good sunny spells, however some well scattered showers will occur too. Highs of 17 degrees and it'll be mildest away from Irish Sea coasts.

Sunday

Dry with sunny spells in most areas but it will be a little cloudier in the southwest where there will be some patchy light rain and drizzle at times. Highs of 16 degrees.
