People have been meeting in Dublin to talk about bypassing the property market to build housing estates for themselves.
They've been discussing how to set up co-operatives and construction groups to buy land and build on it.
Pádraig Flynn from the Self Organised Architecture group says people have been building one-off houses by themselves for years.
He says by coming together, people can build an entire neighbourhood.
