An Irish hotel has gone viral for what it charges for tea and scones.

The Cashel Palace Hotel in Co. Tipperary was the subject of a lot of debate online after a customer shared her receipt from over the weekend.

Twitter user, Ciara, shared a picture of the receipt after visiting the establishment for Mother's Day. The receipt shows that she was charged €45 for three scones and teas/coffees at Mickey Ryan's Bar at the hotel. A €4.50 gratuity charge was also included bringing the price of the experience up to €49.50.

She jokingly captioned it, "Send an ambulance".

The tweet has since gone viral with over 1,600 retweets and over 2,000 replies.

It's sparked a massive debate with people online with some condemning the "outrageous" price.

However, others have defended the luxury hotel saying that you're paying for the experience too.
