Those pesky weather warnings are back again!
The recent run of good weather was almost too good to be true.
Met Eireann have now issued a Status Yellow rain warning for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo. They say there'll be persistent and occasionally heavy rain for the rest of Wednesday and all of Thursday while we can also expect a risk of localised flooding.
The warning is in place until midnight on Thursday.
Here's how the weather for the week is panning out:
Wednesday Night
Tonight will remain cloudy, with further outbreaks of rain which'll be persistent and widespread in Ulster, Connacht and in west Munster, but more patchy elsewhere. It'll also be mild and humid with lows of 10 to 13 degrees.
Thursday
Thursday will again be mostly cloudy, with outbreaks of rain across the northern half of the country with some heavy bursts at times. Rain and drizzle will be patchy across the southern half of the country, with good dry intervals developing inland and a few bright spells in parts of the east and southeast. Maximum temperatures of 20 degrees.
Friday
Friday will be a very wet day in the West and North with spells of rain and temperatures around the mid-teens. That band of rain will move down over the rest of the country during Friday evening and night with lows of 7 degrees expected.
Bank Holiday Weekend
It looks like the weather will improve slightly over the weekend. The rain on Saturday morning will clear and it will brighten up countywide with a mix of sunshine and showers and top temperatures of 18 degrees. Further spells of rain are likely to push in from the Atlantic on Saturday evening and night with more showery conditions following for Sunday. Turning cooler too for Sunday with temperatures of 13 degrees. At the moment, Monday looks to be a fresh day with sunny spells and scattered showers.
