Blankets at the ready.
Tonight is going to be a cold one lads.
Met Eireann says temperatures will drop to as low as -3C tonight.
We can also expect more persistent rain in many places tonight that'll turn to sleet on hills.
There'll also be the ongoing risk of hail and thunder and later tonight, the rain will turn more showery with good clear spells over Munster and later over Leinster. It'll also be coldest in Munster and southeast Leinster with widespread frost and icy stretches.
Here's how the rest of this week's weather is shaping up:
Friday
Any frost will clear in the morning as cloud and the rain will extend northwestwards across the country through the course of the day. It'll be a lot drier in the afternoon with bright or sunny spells in the southwest. There'll be t temperatures of 11 degrees. Friday night, we can expect scattered outbreaks of rain, which'll be heaviest across the east and southeast. It'll also be rather cold at night with lows of 2 degrees.
Saturday
Saturday is set to be dry and bright day across the country with sunny spells. Any lingering overnight rain will soon clear and temperatures could hit 13 degrees, with the highest temperatures expected in the west. It'll turn cold overnight with clear spells and some frost and lows of 0 degrees.
Sunday
Sunday will be another mostly dry and bright day with sunny spells. However, it'll get cloudier with the risk of showers near the east and south of the country with maximum temperatures of 13 degrees. It'll stay generally dry on Sunday night apart from occasional mist and fog and possibly patchy drizzle across some eastern and southern coastal counties.
