Because if you can't be in Japan, here's the next best thing.

Let's call a spade a spade here.

The Rugby World Cup games aren't on at the most sociable hours. Most of the Irish pool games are happening between 8am and 11:30am Irish-time and to be honest, it's probably not acceptable to saunter into your local pub at that time.

Just because the hours aren't sociable, doesn't mean you don't have to be. Here are a few places around the country that have class events on for the Ireland game on Sunday:

1. Anderson's in Sligo

Anderson's are on the ball with their RWC prep. You can grab your full breakfast for a tenner and then tuck into your breakkie while the lads in green do their thing from 8:45am. Pure bliss.

2. The Roost, Maynooth

The Roost is opening especially early to allow match-goers take in all the action. They'll also have the fry on for ya and the game streaming across the venue. However, they're advising you to book your table to make sure you've a decent spot!

3. An Pucan, Galway

An Pucan and big match days just go hand in hand don't they? The gang will be open for breakfast and you'll be able to catch every blade of grass from Japan on one of their massive screens.

4. The Hatchet Inn, Dunboyne

The guys over at The Hatchet Inn promise a 'Breakfast Scrum' which means your full breakfast available from 8am, the chance to win a few spot prizes, a jersey giveaway and of course, the big game itself on the screens. They even have a courtesy bus home on offer, where available. Sound gesture!

5. The cinema

Lads. Just picture it... Rory Best's lineouts and Johnny Sexton's conversions all unfolding on MASSIVE screens with ultimate surround sound. The dream! Some Omniplex cinemas around the country are showing the rugby games and even have a little breakfast planned for those who go! You can find out the participating cinemas and all the deets here.

6. The comfort of your own couch

Sometimes there really is nowhere better to watch the rugby than from the comfort of your own living room. If you are watching the exploits of the Irish Rugby team, know that the action kicks off at 8:45am Irish-time on Sunday and here are the TV channels showing it live:

RTÉ 2

RTÉ's coverage starts from 8am and joining Daire O'Brien for match analysis will be Eddie O'Sullivan, Jamie Heaslip and Stephen Ferris.

Eir Sport

The guys from Eir are in studio a good bit earlier - broadcasting from 7:45am on Sunday - and they'll have Mike Phillips, Louise Galvin, Jerry Flannery, Gordon D’Arcy, Scott Fardy and James Lowe in Japan.

ITV

ITV's coverage kicks off slightly later from 8:10am and will have Brian O'Driscoll, Paul O'Connell, Ian McGeechan and Jim Hamilton on analysis while Alan Quinlan will also be one of the commentators.
