It's part of this year's 'Culture Night'.
Over 4,500 books will be given away for free today at bus and train stations across the country.
The 'Read More' initiative is part of this year's 'Culture Night' programme, which gets under way today.
It'll see 1,700 free events take place across the country, including a Bollywood Brass Band in Dublin and Electronic Set in Limerick's St John's Castle.
Director of the Arts Council, Maureen Kennelly, says the free books available today, will celebrate Irish writers.
The books will be distributed by 'book conductors' at the station, with well-known Irish authors like Colm Tobín and Marian Keyes making the list.
