We sure hope he's right!

Chances are if look outside right now, you'd be forgiven for thinking we're in the middle of January.

But unfortunately it's June and this time last year we were complaining that it was perhaps a little too hot (how we long for those days again).

When it comes to getting some summer rays we'll look for hope from just about anywhere at the moment...

And Michael Gallagher who originally shot to fame in 2007 when he correctly predicted when Ireland’s famous summer of rain would end, has given that slight hope.

The Donegal postman who gained notoriety by correctly predicting how Ireland’s summers and winters will pan out has weighed in on what we can expect in the coming months.

Despite a string of rain and weather warnings in recent days, Michael has assured the public, “I would say to people don’t throw away your sun lotion yet.”

He told The Irish Sun, “There’s still a good part of summer still to come. It’s very hard to put a time on it but there is a change on the way.

“It was like winter and the old people always when you get a cold spell with hailstones and thunder, that’s a sign of something coming good. And I see there’s a change on the way.”

We certainly want to believe you Michael!
