Looks like the parades will be safe!

It appears the many St. Patrick's day parades around Ireland will be safe from the wind and rain, according to the long range forecast from Met Éireann.

As we all know Paddy's day falls on a Sunday this year, meaning it's turned more into an entire long weekend of craic with Monday being a public holiday.

And with all the recent lousy weather caused by Storm Gareth, naturally a lot of people held concerns as to whether the weather was going to ruin this glorious extra long weekend.

Well, as per usual it's going to be a bit of a mixed bag.

Here's what's in store:

Friday: Will be cloudy with rain clearing for a time but further rain is likely to push into the west by evening. Top temperatures will hit 10 to 13 degrees during the day, while rain will become widespread and heavy during Friday night.

Saturday: Chilly. We're set to experience heavy and persistent rain with a risk of hail as well on Saturday. Temperatures will be 2 to 4 degrees in the north and parts of the west but elsewhere afternoon temperatures will be around 5 to 8 degrees.

Saturday night will be cold too with scattered showers and lowest temperatures will fall to between -1 to +3 degrees.

Sunday (St. Patrick's day): The big one, St Patrick's day is likely to be a bright and cold day with sunny spells and scattered showers, some of the showers could be wintry. Top temperatures 7 to 9 degrees in a moderate to fresh northwesterly breeze.

Could be worse! At least the parades will be safe and the sun should be shining.
