October is the month of the festivals.
Galway City already has claims to possessing the best vibe in Ireland, but October will see the place go to a whole other level.
This month will see no less than four festivals hit the streets of Galway, and in typical fashion there's something for just about everyone.
And as per usual the Latin Quarter will be the heartbeat of the action.
Galway City's Latin Quarter runs from the Spanish Arch to O’Brien’s Bridge to St Nicholas’ Church to Middle Street and showcases the city's amazing medieval heritage.
It's home to many of Galway's best-known shops, pubs, restaurants and hotels along with historic buildings.
While the short cobble stoned stretch of the road, known as High Street is nationally famous for its small unique, interesting shops.
With over 50 places to eat, 20 of Ireland’s best bars all in one area, cultural landmarks, along with the finest boutiques & retailers.. it’s where Galway Comes Alive.

The festival saw three world class Irish artists, Lauren Kinsella, Sean Carpio and Donal O' Kelly.
As well as 30 dazzling Irish jazz stars who have wowed and will continue to wow crowds for the rest of the festival...

Baboro International Arts Festival for Children 14th – 20th Oct.
Second in the line up is the Baboró International Arts Festival for Children.
Featuring a stellar line-up to its 20th annual children’s festival in Galway, inspiring young minds to engage with the arts.
Every year, the line-up delivers in sparking children’s imaginations from an early age.
The Festival gives exposure to real-life issues in a gentle, non-patronising way, which is vital to children’s development as a whole.
This year is no different.
The line up (suitable for ages nought to ninety) is packed with clever, innovative works from Ireland, Holland, Sweden, Belgium, Austria, Denmark and the UK.
Vodafone Comedy Carnival 22nd – 28th.
This is one people have had circled on the calendar for months...
The Vodafone Comedy Carnival never disappoints and year’s Festival boasts over 120 acclaimed performers from Ireland and across the globe all aiming to bring laughter and craic to Galway city.
The line-up once again boasts a mix of Ireland’s biggest names in comedy including John Bishop, Waterford Whispers, The Two Johnnies and many more.

Is there anywhere in Ireland more suited to a Halloween festival than the medieval streets of Galway's Latin Quarter?
The Galway Halloween Festival is set for a seriously spine-chilling Sunday, this October 27.
As per usual its the country’s largest Halloween Festival and plays host to a number of activities and events so promises to be a superb weekend for all ages.
