In sad news this morning, legendary RTÉ broadcaster Larry Gogan, has died aged 81.
He worked with RTÉ for over 50 years, and became best known for "The Golden Hour" and the "Just A Minute Quiz."
RTÉ's Director General Dee Forbes has described him as a "legend" and "genuine national institution."
He was predeceased by his wife, Florrie, and is survived by his five children and grandchildren.
Gogan started in radio in the 1960s after finishing school.
He broadcast his first radio programme on RTE Radio 1 and was in the original RTÉ Radio 2 lineup in 1979.
Just a Minute.
Gogan has also presented a variety of television programmes including Pickin' The Pops, Go 2 Show and The Golden Hour.
In addition to his famous show The Golden Hour, Gogan is famous for his "Just a Minute Quiz", which occurs during his radio show.
Contestants had to answer as many questions right within the minute and for those who failed to do well, Larry's catchphrase 'They just didn't suit you' became quite well known.
