There's no doubt that horse racing is a national treasure in Ireland, we just love a day out at the races!
One of the main reasons we love racing so much (besides the adrenaline pumping action) is because its the perfect day out for the family.
And there's no racing carnival more family friendly than the Longines Irish Champions Weekend (LICW).
For the 6th year running the Longines Irish Champions Weekend will light up the Leopardstown Racecourse on September 14th and at The Curragh Racecourse in Kildare on September 15th.
And this year will easily be the biggest yet.
For the kids:
At Leopardstown on the Saturday kids and parents can enjoy some brilliant activities like:
- The chance to get a picture taken with JET the Shetland Pony.
- Face painters.
- RACE the horse racing simulator.
- Giant Games including Connect 4, Giant Jenga, Giant Dominos & Giant Lego.
- Wooly’s Farm and colouring area.
- Hobby Horses.
- And a few surprises thrown in!
And the Sunday at The Curragh wont be outdone either with hours of fun to be had on the purpose built soft-surface playground and extended kids zone, as well as face-painting and arts & crafts!
Best of all kids race for free on BOTH days. Class.
