They're among the 65,000 getting their results today.

Nineteen students have received top marks of 11 A's in this year's Junior Cert.

They're among the 65 thousand pupils getting their marks today.

It's been a longer wait than usual for this year's Junior Cert students to get their results.

The delay of almost a month is because of the effort to speed up marking process for the Leaving Cert.

Today's results are broadly in line with previous years, however four-thousand students failed higher level history, around one in 10.

There were also high failure rates in ordinary level Spanish, French and German. Gardai have issued a warning to students planning to celebrate tonight.

They say they'll have extra officers patrolling to crack down on anti-social behaviour. They're also urging students to watch out for the dangers of drinking or taking drugs.
