Jessica Hammond Chats To iRadio About Her 'i Love Irish' track - Video Call

iRadio in the Morning caught up with one of iRadio's I Love Irish artists of the month - Jessica Hammond who is celebrating the release of her first single of 2021; Video Call, a retro-pop dance floor gem written about the challenges faced by the world at large during the pandemic.

‘Video Call is about the interpersonal relationship challenges we have all faced over the last year in the context of how friends, family and strangers across the whole world are socially distancing from each other. It’s about how we all crave humanity to be saved at this moment in time. I wanted to show how the world has come to a stand-still, but as the track develops, I wanted to show how we have also united and come together in order to save lives. The song is ultimately one of positivity and hope’.

From Belfast, Jessica started her music career at 14 on Disney’s 'My Camp Rock' performing alongside Demi Lovato and has worked with some of the best producers and Grammy award-winning writers including Amy Wadge (Thinking Out Loud/Ed Sheeran) and Ollie Jacobs (The Saturdays). A highly skilled producer in her own right, Jessica self-produces all of her own releases alongside her long-time collaborator and co-producer Matty Graham from their base at Black Studios in Belfast.

2020 saw Jessica receive major support on radio in the UK and Ireland including being one of only two artists to represent Northern Ireland at BBC Introducing Live in October, and also getting major playlist support from RTE 2fm + Cool FM (the two largest pop stations on the island of Ireland). In addition, Tomboy was also Track of the Week on several large scale regionals such as Beat 102-103, iRadio and others keeping Jessica in the Top 50 Radio Play charts in Ireland for over six weeks. Her second single Tomboy also remained in the Top 10 Shazam Charts for over four weeks. Strong support also came from streaming platforms globally.
