The Irish Cancer Society only receives 2 per cent of funding from the State and Daffodil Day is its biggest fundraising event, where they aim to raise €4 million in one day.
The charity provides free services to people with cancer, including counselling, transport to hospital appointments, and advice and support through its Nurseline phone service.
Louise from The Hub spoke to Mark Mellett, Head of Fundraising with the Irish Cancer Society, about the importance of Daffodil Day.
