Road trip anyone?

Great news! The summer is back for one weekend and Met Eireann say there'll be highs of 25 degrees across the country.

It's the ideal time to get out and about and soak up exactly what our wonderful island has to offer. Here are five spots that'll be absolutely whopper when the sun shines:

1. Mullaghmore, Co Sligo

Mullaghmore is probably one of the most under-rated beaches in the north-west. The views are breath-taking and if you fancy giving surfing a go, then there's nowhere better.

2. Cuilcagh Mountain Loop Walk, Co Fermanagh

Yep. This is the one that you've seen all over Instagram. The Stairway to Heaven walk as it’s been dubbed is the perfect mix of both beautiful views and endorphin pumping exercise. At 665-metres above sea level, you’re sure to take some awe-inspiring pics when you reach the top that'll rack up the likes!

3. The Great Western Greenway, Co Mayo

You'll feel rejuvenated after a trip to the glorious Greenway in County Mayo. The 42km strech is the longest off-road walking and cycling trail in the country and takes in picturesque towns and villages like Achill Island, Westport, Newport and Mulranny.

4. Rossnowlagh, Co Donegal

This little gem just south of Donegal Town is renowned for it's rugged cliff landscape and the unbeatable surf. It's secluded and peaceful but there are also plenty of cafés and restaurants dotted nearby where you can grab those post-stroll refreshments!

5. Dog's Bay, Co Galway

The turquoise waters of Dog’s Bay in Roundstone speak for themselves. On a sunny day, this beach can match the rugged beauty of any around the globe. Oh, and just a tip - the seafood chowder and pint of Guinness in nearby O’Dowds seafood bar is apparently to die for!
