It happened in the town on Friday.
Gardaí are looking for further information on a public order incident in Ashbourne.
On Friday evening, March 8th, officers saw a large group of teenagers getting off a bus in the centre of the town. The group entered a multi-story car park, where they approached a small group of local teens who immediately dispersed.
One local teenager was assaulted before Gardaí could intervene.
Both that person and a Garda sustained minor injuries during the assault.
Gardaí have made three arrests under the Public Order Act in relation to the incident. They've already identified a number of other people who were involved and are in the process of interviewing them.
Investigating officers say most of those involved seem to have travelled from Swords by public transport. They're liasing with local schools as part of their investigation.
