Dublin stabbing victim published two eerie Facebook posts just hours before death

Tributes have been pouring in for Peter Donnelly who was stabbed to death on O'Connell Street in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

A man who was stabbed to death on Dublin's O'Connell Street after getting into an altercation, had published that "today is my dying day", just hours before the incident on Facebook. 

Peter Donnelly from Kilkenny was stabbed by another man outside a premises near the Greshem Hotel on O'Connell Street at 1:40am on Tuesday morning.

He was taken to hospital but was later pronounced dead following what was described by witnesses as ''a violent attack'' knife attack.

Just hours before the attack, the victim took to Facebook to post two statuses that hinted at the prospect of dying, reports Dublin Live

The first post, on June 10 at 15:24 says: "Bye y'all Mofos n die slow".

A second status posted just three minutes later, said: "Today is my dying day. F*** y'all. When he squeal, what a chap I was ye f******."

Tributes.

Tributes have been pouring in for Mr Donnelly who was described as "a good friend" and "very nice fellow".

His cousin, Jimmy Donnelly, said he was "absolutely devastated to have heard the news".

"Love you Peter, rest easy cuz. May God be good to you man. You'll be fondly remembered."

Another person commented: "Rest in peace Peter Donnelly. I'll never forget what you did for me. Thanks for helping me and rest in peace my friend."

A third said: "Rip Peter Donnelly. May you get the best bed in heaven."

Another person added: "Peter helped a lot of people around Kilkenny. He was brilliant to them."

A 28-year-old man was arrested close to the scene by gardai following the attack. He suffered a suspected stabbing injury and was taken to hospital.
