Well that's something you don't see everyday...

Former Taoiseach Enda Kenny has been making fine use of his time since leaving office.

He won a yachting regatta alongside adventurer Bear Grylls' team. Their crew claimed the inaugural King’s Cup regatta, which was hosted by Prince William and Kate.

The Duke's boat finished in joint third while Kate came last in the event off the Isle of Wight yesterday.

A photo posted to Kensington Palace's Instagram page shows the Mayo man on stage with Bear Grylls at the event.

⛵️ An incredible day at The King’s Cup, raising awareness and funds for eight of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's Patronages — big congratulations ? @tusk_org and @beargrylls on a fantastic victory! The Duke competed on behalf of @childbereavementuk and The Duchess on behalf of the Early Years programme delivered by The Royal Foundation. Their Royal Highnesses were by Fara Williams for @centrepointuk, Dan Snow for @ldnairamb, Bear Grylls for @tusk_org, John Bishop for @actiononaddiction, Katie Thistleton for @_place2be, and Helen Glover for @afnccf. Their Royal Highnesses hope that The King’s Cup will become an annual event, bringing greater awareness to the wider benefits of sport, whilst also raising support and funds for the causes that The Duke and Duchess support.
