Some could hear it 10km away.
Thousands of Ed Sheeran fans crowded into Croke Park in Dublin last night, for the first music event at the venue since the start of the pandemic.
The singer-songwriter has a second gig at GAA HQ tonight, before performing in Cork, Limerick and Belfast.
While most people took to social media to praise the opening night of the Mathematics Tour, nearby residents weren't so pleased.
Some people took to Twitter to complain about the noise, with some reporting they could still hear the gig up to 10 kilometres away.
Can all of Dublin hear that #EdSheeran gig?
I must be 10km away from Croke Park and the noise is beating my windows in.
Loudest gig ever.

Ok @edsheeran, you’ve stressed my dog out now. He’s gone under the table and won’t come out. Shivering and stressed with your noise. This is just not on. Have some fucking respect. We all share this world. @DubGAAOfficial @CrokePark @DubCityCouncil

While the gig undoubtedly brought a boost to the area, some were raising the point that locals didn't sign up to live in an area with massive concerts.
Yes Eric this topic divides all the residents https://t.co/q2foOblAJi is great for local businesses but not for all residents. My friend is over 70 years living there. He did not sign up for all the noise and concerts there.

And some were sharing that they could hear it, even though they're not near the gig.
I live about half an hour from croke Park and the absolute noise of that Ed Sheeran gig. I really feel for the locals
