Who needs to convince their boss to do this?
Having a dog at work can help boost productivity.
That's according to the DSPCA who are encouraging employers to sign up for their Pets at Work Scheme (PAWS).
Susanne McGovern from the DSPCA spoke to Morning Ireland on RTÉ about the initiative. She explained that there are a number of benefits to having your pet at work:
"There's lots of research there to tell us that it does actually increase employee morale, socialisation, engagement and productivity".
The DSPCA has a six-step guide for employers who are interested in bringing pets into the workplace. Some of their tips include a 'pet-free' zone for employees who'd prefer that option. They also advise that pets be toilet trained and well socialised with people and other animals before coming into the office.
The DSPCA say a large number of pets have been surrendered as people return to workplaces across the country.
"That's the last thing we want for families to do", explained Susanne.
"Our pets are part of our family and that's the way they should be treated.
"You owe it to them to try everything possible for you to keep your pet".
