The figures range from 2000 to 2017.
Carlow has the highest divorce rate in Ireland, while Leitrim has the lowest, according to an analysis of applications to the Circuit Court.
The data, which provides divorce application figures per county from 2000 to 2017, shows Carlow’s current rate of 1.2 divorce applications per 1,000 population is now the highest in Ireland, with the County surpassing Dublin back in 2015, reports the Irish Times.
Dublin did have the highest rate of divorce applications in the country from 2010 to 2014, and has been the only county above the national average for divorce applications since 2000.
However in 2017 Clare, Cork, Kerry, Longford, Sligo, Westmeath and Wexford all had a rate higher than Dublin.
Three counties – Donegal, Cavan and Kildare – have been continuously below the national rate since 2000.
